Well that's just great that you're enjoying your Strat my Tin Eared fellow Fender Forum reader!

In a world of such high expectations, it's a thrill to see that you champion mediocrity.

My hands are just fine....coaxing sweet tones out of my more thoughtfully equipped/designed Stratocasters!

I don't think any of us dishing out insults to each other is the way to go. :(

Likes and dislikes are a matter of opinion - witness all the unpleasant threads in which folks were arguing about John Mayer. It just wasn't necessary - you either like his music or you don't, and either way it's no big deal.

If people dislike the alnico 3 pups - then it's no biggie, they can change them. If they're happy with the alnico 3's, that's also fine, and neither choice should make someone into a target for insults and name calling.

Insulting each other about it...that's not fine.

I played nightclubs in California most of my life & lived and played a few years in Nevada too. One thing that I always kept in mind was to never use equipment than brings your sound down. Anybody who makes a living playing music has to pay the price for a professional instrument to support them. Then, you need a backup just ion case. I believe that Fender does a good job in the under $1000 guitar or amp category aimed at the the player who is not playing for money, but still wants a decent axe.

Back from a Heavy Metal riot weekend, two gigs and my American Standard held up great. This post I agree with 100%. I tried to cheap out with the highway one and it is just not gig worthy stock. Adios, time to go get busy with my sweet sex goddess girlfriend.

:?

I think I'm done with this forum. It's gone from a place where people discussed guitars to a place where people just talk absolute BS about themselves, and put each other's opinions down. I guess the trolls have won this one, then.

"Sex Goddess Girlfriend"?

Sheesh!

Sheesh!

 Nah, it ain't that bad, man - and it goes in cycles. Been a couple of shouting matches recently, but there's weeks and months at a time without that stuff.

Anyway, by the standards of internet forums even the angry stuff here is usually comparatively low temperature...

Stick around why not: the Aussies and Kiwis round here are especially good value, I happen to have noticed.

Cheers - C

Aside from the magnet and number of coils on the pickup itself aren't the electronic components of the Highway1 exactly the same as the American Standard?
Ok I'm not a fan of the greasebucket wiring but the pots and switch are the same.
Yeah the pickups are an aquired taste but not without their uses. I like em, as far as thin sounding I'd have to disagree. Theres eq settings to sort that out.
Anyway I want to see this sex goddess girlfriend. I think that when you make a statement like that you should let the forum population decide if she's a munter or not.

So anyway you bought a bad guitar and it's fenders fault, not yours? That dont make sense to me at all. Why did you shell out for such a bad instrument? Or did Mary Minger pick it for you?

Does this thread remind you of this guy (check the ebay auction)

Yeah I bout the guitar online. First and last time I do that. At the time I couldn't afford anything else and I really wanted a strat. Should have sent it back but i thought if I got out the file it would be okay. The problem with the electronics didn't occur until a month later onstage during a gig. For me the highway one is ungiggable junk.

Dude you really shouldn't post pictures of your girl on the forum. As far as the website link that was pretty funny. You must have spent a few hours putting that website together.

Anyway I noticed you have enormous number of posts. You should get out from behind the computer and go live a little.

Yeah maybe your right, still the 8 year old humour levels dont really wash round here do they? Never mind ridiculous comments about sex goddess girlfriends. Heres a tip for you. Those ladies you see in razzle are not your girlfriend, no matter how busy your fingers get when your looking at em.

So you bought the guitar that your not happy with, yet want to blame someone else.

There lies the answer to all thats wrong with the world today people.

As far as living.... yeah your right I should get out more. I simply enjoy educating tards like yourself, I see it as though I'm giving something back.

How many continents have you played on by the way?

I have re-read my posts in this thread and I am trying to find the part where I blame others for my purchase of the highway one strat. Can you point out where I was blaming someone else? Complaining about a particular fender product not being gigworthy and sharing my story in no way equates to me shifting blame to someone else.

Oh and by the way I am floored by you immense wisdom and insights and how you have distilled all of the complex problems facing the world today into one simple problem.

I would suggest to you that another problem in the world is that many people don't read or listen carefully enough and attribute false positions to writers or speakers.

Generally the biggest know-it-alls in life are usually insecure and are more often than not...wrong.

As far as my girlfriend she is real and is an liberated intelligent Asian sex goddess. she looks alot like, a younger Asian Christy Canyon.

I don't know what you are trying to prove by your how many continents have you played on question. But since you asked I have played gigs in the U.S., Canada, China, New Zealand, Brazil, Egypt and South Africa. So you do the math genius.

Yeah yeah yeah

Anywhere I can here your work? Website maybe? I myself have only played on four continents but currently feature on two websites and have seven CD's under my belt as well as a plethora of singles. Dating right back to 96. Surely there must be some proof of your claims.

Oh your initial complaint post about the poor standard of the guitar you chose to buy. The one you picked and settled on. That including your ill informed generalisms was pretty damning of the whole line of Highway One guitars.

So there it was, thats where you were shifting the blame. Definately not shouldering it yourself for buying and not returning a poor guitar, as any responsible adult would do. That is entirely whats wrong with the world today, were led by people with broken shoulders that cant carry the blame for their actions.

As far as your notions as to my supposed insecurities or complete incorrectness about everything. You can think what you like, your opinion of me matters non. But whilst were on about insecurities, it wasnt me who made his debut on this forum acting the 'internet hardman' and has to drop nonsense statements like sex goddess girlfriend to bolster his online persona. By the way you may want to examine your relationship with that person if thats the way you refer to her. Still I suppose you just cant have it all from a mail order bride, can you?

I suggest you rethink whether you want to continue this debate. I for one am quite sure your ill equipped for where this is going.

Where in china did you play and when? That would be very interesting to know. Last time I was out there I was planning a trip up to Fatshan. The consequences of hopping the border from HongKong were far too severe. Let alone go lumping a amp and guitar with me.

hehe, oh lord the s£*t gone hit the fan. look at what seasick steve gigs with, he does not even have a hw1! to be honest I hear a lot of people modding this and slagging that off, with a decent guitar a good player will make it sing, I know I can. A fancy guitar does not = girlfriend = rock god= loved etc. Don't bother doing the math(s).
