Fender American Select Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar, I bought this awsome strat last week and I can't put it down. I've tried to find more info about it but I can't seem to find anything except on Guitar Center's web site. The reviews seem to suggest that it's a limited edition. I can't even find out what year it was built. Can anyone help? Image

It might just be a FSR guitar built for the Guitar Center. Somebody else may know more on it than me.

What is the serial number on it? That may help.

Almost forgot-------Welcome to the forum!!! :) Nice looking guitar!! 8)

That serial number suggest it a MIA 09 Deluxe. Does it have a S-1 switch or press in button? SCN pickups?

It's a MIA Deluxe 09 model year. Check it out here and punch in your numbers,

Yeah you can find the year yours was made by looking at the serial number. Click on 'support' at the top of the page here and select 'product dating' and 'us instruments'. It really can't be easier. Email the serial number to Fender customer service and they can give you the list of specs.

I remember seeing these Strats in Guitar Center a while ago. The black headstock is really an eye catcher!

edit: Oh you posted the serial number while I was typing this. OK all is well.

Thanks, I checked the web site so I guess it is a Deluxe. I wonder why they sell it as a Select.

Probably because Guitar Center got Fender to paint them in a paint scheme that is not offered anywhere else. That's what they call a Fender Special Run or FSR.

Yeah, and a mahogany body is a select wood that is not your normal woods.

they are very nice......i have seen two (almost bought them) one i seen was a 2008 it didnt have a S-1 on it....another was a 2009 it had the S-1 although everything i was reading on them said it didnt.

i know of 3 years they was made 2007-09 (just what i know ,could be more) and as far as i can tell some had the S-1 some didnt...but outside the see through red color, and black headstock they are a Am. Deluxe.
