That question is totally subjective. There isn't a best guitar just like there isn't a best guitar player. Everyone has their own favorites, and that's cool. 8)

Both are awesome guitars...

I think people winge to much about the difference between MIA, MIJ, MIM....well that's at least the order I would put them in, but I am sure that all of these produce some of the finest axes that actually out do one or the other...

I LOVE THEM ALL......Thanks Fender!!!!

ANY Stratocaster made in Japan, Korea, India or Indonesia will far supass one made south of the southern border of our Great Nation in quality. True "craftsmanship" is evident in the Asian made Fender/Squier guitars.

Why did Fender choose to go to the "East" to augment production in Mexico instead of expanding facilities existing facilities "south of the border" ? If we are to believe the executives from Fender who were interviewed for numerous books on Fender guitars it was because the "Asian" community offered highly skilled labor and true "craftsman" existed there rather then the assembly line drones found elsewhere.

The following OPINION from Brad Traweek clearly exhibits he hasn't read the books associated with the Fender guitar brand nor has he availed himself of the interviews of Fender executives there included. Those executives made it CRYSTAL CLEAR that "Asia" was THEIR choice for superior product. History bears that out just look at the resale value of either a MIJ or CIJ as opposed to a current MIM Strat.

"My own personal opinion on the matter is that any thought process that attempts to draw a direct correlation between a product line and the surrounding culture and/or race in which the manufacturing facility resides is a fundamentally misguided thought process." Brad Traweek

Well I guess his OWN bosses are "fundamentally misguided".

What one DOES notice that "Brad" has NOT refuted nor has he guaranteed practices in the plant in Mexico will be modified to remedy the problems associated with the models being made there. Well I guess it's to be expected that an internet savvy "techie" would resort to insulting a LOYAL Fender owner rather that seek to satisfy customers after all it's easier to "name call".

1. Fender opened the Japan plant to cut on import costs.

2. I can't believe you are still rabbiting on and having a go at the one guy who works for FMIC and can ban you.

3. Your other thread got locked. Adhere to the rules or leave. Simple as that. That's all I'm saying an I expect another non-educated response. Give it a rest.

4. I've never heard any complaints about a MIM guitar aside from you to the degree of constantly resorting to racism. You get what you paid for and you were the one who bought it so more fool you. Maybe instead of buying musical instruments that can result in you hating an entire nation ( ) you should spend the money on some college classes. Start with manners.

I have no problem with your opinion. That's yours and I am fine with that. It's how you go about it and your slating of a nation that doesn't sit well with me.

In the midst of all this banter, we failed to acknowledge JerseyJettFan's 100th post. Congrats! :P

What wrong with that ? Do you know something I don't ? Here in the USA, especially NYC where I was today (AT Ground Zero you know "The World Trade Center" ?) it's NOT uncommon for those of the younger generation to grab a bench or settle in by a fountain and play. It even happens at the Bandshell in Central Park.

Then again your a "wordsmith" ain't cha ? (sic)

I do have a degree in English yes, I'm also quarter New Yorker and lived there many years and it doesn't take a genius as to your implication.
