i'm sure this sounds very ignorant but dose fender make a strat thats rear loaded (no pick guard ) im looking at a guitar. neck has deluxe ser # but body is rear loaded looks more like a jackson body its a beutifull guitar but dont want to spend more than its worthall so it has a natural finish and the serial num is for 2005 :roll:

From time to time, Fender periodically issues some "FSR" (factory special run) Strats with appointments as you've described. They're usually MIJ or MIM, with Floyd Rose tail pieces and the like. I believe the "HM Strat" was one of these FSR's, at least initially.

Hi crlacrosse, welcome to the Forum.

Care to post us a link so that we can see the guitar you're talking about? Or photos, if this is taking place in the real world?

What you describe sounds like it might be an American Deluxe Quilt Maple Top (QMT) or Flame Maple Top (FMT). From memory I think that one had two black knobs instead of three and a tobacco burst finish - does that sound right?

That model was discontinued in the last year or so. If that is what you are looking at it was a very nice guitar indeed and worthy of a serious price if the condition is good. What are you being asked for it, please?
