A previous topic discus the 5 way switch setting we all were using and most of us were using mainly the neck and mid pickups. 1 & 2 & 3 (think that's the correct #'s) I started experimenting with #4 and found by adjusting the Delta-Tone I could get some nice sound. But - what the hell does the Delta - Tone knob actually do? I read Fenders description but not sure exactly what they are saying. It appears that it functions as a Tone Knob for both the mid and/or bridge pickup and that at full detent there just is not any filtering. ? Does it impact positions 3,4 & 5?

Also if that is the case how does the regular tone knob effect all of the pickups?

"Inquiring minds need to know"

Thanks

It is a tone controll for the bridge and middle pickup, and it is a no-load tone pot, so when you turn it untill it feels stuck, it completely bypasses the pot and makes your sound way too trebley. Im about to do away with my no load tone pot. Its a pain in the $@! to turn with my pinky.

John - thanks. Fortunately I play slow enough that I don't need to use my pinky. ''

With what you said - both the regular Tone knob and the Delta Tone have an impact on the middle pickup unless Delta Tone is left at the detent.
