Hi all,

Thought I would post some pics of my 2007 Daphne Blue. I responded to a couple of threads on the subject. I have done some superficial mods to it. Basically replaced the pickguard (I have this thing for mint green pickguards lol). Replaced the plastics with some aged ones and put some older string trees on it. I know alot of people dont care for the pu's but I actually like them so left them in.

I also included some pics illustrating how fragile the finish is. Its actually absorbed some of the dye from my jeans and denim jacket. Also a fairly deep dent by one the denim "stains" from some wood to wood contact at which the time didnt seem all that eventful. I am all for the concept of the finish allow it to "relic" a bit quicker. I am just worried its aged look is going to look more like someone took a hammer and a screwdriver to it (I should probably be a bit more careful as well :D ) as i find it a bit too fragile.

All and all though a great guitar for the price (I paid £425 for it new a couple of years ago).

I, too, aquired a Daphne Blue Highway One (mine's an HSS) and I'm well aware of the delicacy of the finish. I'm looking forward to it's natural 'relicing'.
Delicate finish aside.....the thing IS built like a tank!!
Heck....Rory Gallagher didn't sweat over every little scratch on his number 1 Strat....so why should we?
You may want to look into ditching those HORRIBLE Ping tuners!! The Fender/Schaller locking tuners are a DIRECT DROP IN replacement and will be the best move you can do for this axe!!
I own the ENTIRE color spectrum (7) of the Highway One HSS series and I've replaced them ALL with the locking tuners!

I love that Daphne Blue. My strat is Midnight wine.

It has a rosewood fret board and I'm seriously considering starting a painting project changing the Midnight Wine to Daphne Blue.

If and when I do decide to tackle that project I'll post pics of the process. Love that color!

Sweet axe here is mine. I got it last week and have been playing it so much that my Tele has collected dust since then. Mine was new old stock and an 07, I looked for 2 years to find one in good condition and lucked out and found one new.

I really like my HWY 1. I use D standard tuning to play the heavy stuff.

what model is the shoreline gold strat? aside from vintage white, shoreline gold is my fav color for a strat hands down. One day I will have one for sure! Nice guitars!

It's actually called Aztec Gold. I don't know why or what the difference is but it's the MIM 50th Anniversary. She is my favorite Strat. The pic doesn't do her justice! The sound and feel is amazing. Not what you would expect from a "non-MIA" guitar.

This is a little better picture.

Great color and though I dont have a guitar in it, I always like when a color is discontinued and I do have a guitar in it.

My HWY 1 was an '06 NOS I purchased for around $550 less than a year ago! My 50th ('04) and my Tele Deluxe ('06) were NOS as well. I made out on them too. I paid $500 and $600 respectively a couple of months ago. I did pay full price for the RW because I got as it hit the shelf. My DeVille was NOS (60th jewel) and I got it for $600. I think I did well.

I think my dates are correct.
