A freind of mine is selling a Highway Strat. On the back of the Headstock is a 60th Aniv button. He added a new pickguard with Vintage Noiseless pickups. The old original pickguard and pickups are included. A hardshell case is also included. He wants $450.00 for the whole package. Is this a reasonable price? Any comments will be helpful. Thanks.

Depends how bad you want the noiseless Pups and the case.
Some guitar centers have '06 Hwys for $388. (while they last) So if you add the pickups, and case, 450's not a bad price, but you can probably grind on him a bit, or get a new one for cheap.

Guitar center is $388.00 no case. $428.00 for a gig bag. Looking at the numbers $388.00 base price add $80.00 to $90.00 for a hard case add $125.00 for the pickups. Total on the skinny side would be $593.00 then add tax.

It is a great deal if he did not drop it down a flight of stairs a few times.

HOLY CRAP! Are you joking? You're actually asking US whether or not you should get a $999 dollar guitar for less than half as much including goodies like those pickups and that case?! If it were me, It'd be out of his hands in a jiffy!

I would jump all over that deal. I just bought a Hwy 1 at G.C. on the close-out and it's great. If you like how it plays and sounds go for it!
