:D Hey fellow Fender people,

I'm almost getting into the 70's strat, not the custom shop issue, the mexican one. I was wondering if it's a good value (i.e. good tuners, good finish, good bridge etc.)

I'd really appreciate it if you guys who have owned one or played one to give me some feedback.

Heya- that's what I have the MIM 70's reissue- I love it - plays like a dream. What finish were you thinking of? Mine is natural- I replaced the standard white pickguard and back trem plate with white pearl. Here it is.

Thanks for posting, I love what you've done to really make that strat look nice! What I'm asking is whether either finnish is good (I'd like the sunburst rosewood one though). Like whether it's well laquered. I'd like to know if it really lives up to what a strat should be as far as features go (good contours, good trem bridge, good pickups, etc.)

Thanks for posting! 8)

well i tried this now yesterday and i wasnt to impressed with it
things like: The U shape neck, 7,25" radius, and the pickups....

if i have owned this guitar i think i would hawe changed the pickups to texas spaecial or custom 69's

but maybe this is the guitar for you i dont know

but it was not the right for me....

I used to own a MIM HSS Strat, Sunburst & Rosewood. Seriously, the color looked awesome. The finish was fantastic (even better than the American Made). Besides the fact that they are using lower end bits and part, the MIM units are very well assembled, and the fit and finish is second to none. Most of the time, you can't differentiate from the US products (besides from the bits & parts). If the finish is the only thing that you are worried about, buy it, you won't regret it. My 2 cents.

Crazy, as far as my Strat- the finish is definately well lacquered- and actually my two favorite finishes on Strats are either the Natural or the Sunburst - although I prefer the maple fingerboard over the rosewood. For the money, I think it's a tremendous value - if I had the extra money would I rather buy an American Strat? In all honesty, I'd rather use the extra cash to buy a nice amp - I'm extremely happy with my MIM - the only thing I have heard on these forums- and I really think the best info would come from someone who owns both - is that the American Strat pickups are better than the MIMs- but you can upgrade pickups for a heck of a lot less than the $400-$600 extra for the American. Just my 2 cents. And while I've played the American Strats- I don't own one- so I can only tell you about the MIM. Hope that helps. :)

They come with Custom 69 pickups (at least mine did). I have a maple neck/olympic white 70s strat and I love it. I have big hands so I love the huge U shaped neck. It plays well and sounds beautiful. I would absolutely recommend one, but I would say play it first if you can and see if you like it for yourself. That is all that matters.
