Fedex just delivered my NEW Daphne Blue Highway 1 Strat! It's an 07 but new old stock. I think I am in love! It is prefect and brand new and just beautiful. This is my first ever Strat and I couldn't be happier. The nice wood grain is flowing all through the nitro finish and normally I don't do rosewood but it looks prefect against the Daphne. My wait for the Strat I wanted paid off, I had so much trouble finding a Daphne one let alone one brand new and I got it at a ridiculous price. Bout to do a setup and check her out. Here are some pics:

Welcome to the club!!
It took me a while..but I found one of my own!
Now..I am proud to say...I own the ENTIRE color spectrum of the Highway One Stratocaster HSS series. (there were 7 colors available ove the years)

I LOVE my Daphne.....and like ALL of my other Highway One's....I 'gutted' her....took out the crappy stock pups and put in 2 DiMarzio Area 67's and a DiMarzio 36th Anniv. P.A.F. along with getting rid of those HORRIBLE Ping tuners!! The Fender/Schaller locking tuners are a direct drop in replacement for those....I have them on ALL my Highways! I also put Graph Tech saddles on ALL my Highways too!

VERY NICE! Not sure why, I have never been a big fan of Daphne blue over any other color, but I like the woodgrain coming through the satin finish. I'll definitely have a Midnight wine Hwy 1 Tele before all is said and done.

I already have my new Kinman pups ready to install, some higher quality fender saddles and some vintage tuners. After I take care of that I will be good to go.

Thanks JMR, I can't wait to put some mileage on this thing and see what it can do!

I have to say I like your quote at the bottom of your signature!! Don't understand why a young lady would say that, but no problem, she is entitled to her views!! :?

Thank you sir, I can't wait to get it back from setup tomorrow. Still not brave enough to do my own setups so I took it to the tech my guitar instructor highly recommended.

Yeah, you know sometimes people just post stuff that is an instant classic quote and signature worthy and that one needless to say was priceless. I guess it is considered "cool" or special, but then again most males would sleep with about any female with a pulse. I just laugh every time I read it really. Straight up comedy.

i always liked it too, took me over a year to find one, all the used ones I had seen on ebay went for 600+ and I couldnt justify paying that much, but I sold another guitar and used a little bit of my tax money on this one, the thing that sealed the deal is it was new. Thanks man!

I have that exact one. Don't get too attached to the colour though. That finish is so fragile, mine has even absorbed some of the color of my jeans  .

Nice upgrades! :!:

I agree! The stock alnico III pickups sound awful and crappy. ESPECIALLY THE ATOMIC HUMBUCKING BRIDGE PICKUP.

The American Special HSS is a nice improvement thanks to the gritty TX Specials but it retains the crappy Atomic humbucker, which it can be easily replaced with a better humbucking pickup such as the incredible-sounding Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck Trembucker or the DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAF you're talking about.

BTW, this HWY1 HSS looks better with a maple neck. 8)

Nah!! I'm a recent Rosewood convert. It's much warmer sounding. We have to do all we can to 'treble-down' our Strats; because they're historically a very bright sounding instrument!

no worries there man, I love ghe way the nitro satin finish wears...my hwy 1 tele is starting to wear through at the arm rest and underside where it sits on my leg. looks arent important to me unless it is a vintage guitar, i am all about feel and tone, and the HWY 1's feel great to me! 8)
