Very nice! Is that really a NOS amp or a remake?

Brand spanking new just out of the box NOS Blues Junior! And I am loving it! I guess technically it is NOS by name only. True NOS would be something that was built in the "old" times and sold as new out of old stock.

The NOS Blues Jr is of modern make and in fact is the same in all aspects as a standard Blues Jr with the exception of the laquered tweed finish and a Jensen C12-N speaker.

Great set up,a lot like mine,I have a new Jimmie Vaughn and a blonde Blues Jr. with the Eminence speaker.Do you think the Jensen makes a big difference?

Congrats. I love the look of those amps. I unfortunately have never played through one. How is the volume? Ridiculous or tolerable?

I have heard it does. Honestly since I am a learner still, been playing for 3 years, I wouldn't trust my ear for judgment yet. I only just begun playing with other guys and listening to their stuff. A guy from my weekend jam band has a standard blues junior and I started looking at them based on his recommendation. I was impressed that a 15 W amp could keep up with the other gear in the room and the drummer wailing away.

After about a 4 month search and trying out different tube amps I circled back to the Blues Jr and got a good deal on the NOS so I jumped on it.

All the reviews I read suggest that the speaker in the NOS is a definate improvement over the standar model, but in reading different boards there seems to still be two areas of improvement to be had.
1. Change the tubes, most recommended from what I can tell is JJs
2. A lot of owners have changed out the speaker for a C-Rex

After Easter, I will be going to play with my buddies with the new amp for the first time. I will be able to compare it side by side with my friends amp. Here is a link to a shoot out that was done though:

Thanks for the link, the Jensen certainly seemed to have more presence than the Eminence but I don't know if the difference is significant enough to warrant a speaker change.Maybe if I heard a side by side comparison of a tube and speaker switch the difference would be more profound.
