I just put Texas Special in my MIM sunburst. What a difference! I liked the guitar to begin with but these new pups noticeably round out the tone. There seems to better clarity and string definition. Sometimes my old pups would sound kind of shrill too. Not these. Love them!

I had a couple of Texas Specials and thought they sounded pretty bad. It's all a matter of taste.

two of my strats have Texas Specials and I love the low end these pickups have.Really easy to get some nice crunch and overdriven tones out of them. One of the nicest neck pickups I have heard yet IMHO.

Awesome, congrats! :D I have a set of them in my Squier. They turned it into a different (and much better sounding) guitar. It's nearly a Fender now.

They are a high output pickup.Just adjust the height to where you want it.I know some people who run them flush with the pickgard.Me I like them higher,I can always adjust my amp.

Not always. Sometimes it really is just taste. There have been pups others raved about that I didn't like no matter how I adjusted them or fiddled with amp and guitar settings. SD AlNiCo II Pros for example.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I am a firm believer that sound different in different guitars. And sometimes it isnt what you are looking for.My SRV and my 03 MIA both have Texas Specials in them and they both sound different .There are so many factors that make up a guitar that come in to play ,the trem block ,saddles, bridge, neck radius, tone woods ,wiring ,that its hard to know sometimes what the end result will be.Oh and lets put the amp in the equation as well. But swapping out pickups sometimes is hard to know if you will like the finished product.

i put texas special on my am std strat.. i love it, nice warm and punchy sound compare to the stock am std pickup..

You have to set the texas special pickup quite low (about 3.6mm bass side and 2.5mm treble side) to get the nice, warm, sparkle sound.. when i first install it, i set the pickup high and get that harsh and middy sound, then i lower the pickup and i love the sound so much, well balanced, warm and punch but still have that vintage straty sound

cheers,
