Congrats for coming over to the dark side. A Strat is very versatile. Good choice.

But about the particular Strat you have your eye on. What kind of music are you going to playing on your Strat when you get it? There isn't really a rule saying you can't play this or that, but very generally speaking, active pickups might not make you 100% happy if you want to play some twangin' country or straight up rock n roll. Active pickups are great for metal though.

And this guitar makes me wonder...if those are active pickups then they need a battery and the seller must have routed out a place under the pickguard for the battery. Who knows if he did a hack job gouging away at the guitar body to make room for a battery??? I'd ask the seller more questions about that.

first i would like to thank you all for taking the time helping me. lately i been having a hard time falling asleep at night, thinking about my future purchase. feel like a kid during the holidays. yeah that battery replacement gig sounds like a pain in the gluteous. i will definatley keep that in mind. and on the playing style, i think i will be more bluesy/classic rock/ countryish........... oh hell i think i will be playing across the entire spectrum.

If it had "active electronics" from Fender then you would see a battery compartment on the back of the guitar. I suspect the seller is not certain exactly what the guitar has or, as was said, has altered it beyond just noiseless pups. He should be able to tell you where the battery is.

As for frequently changing the battery... that is not a problem. The 9v Duracell in my Powerhouse Strat has lasted almost four months and I play 1-2 hours daily. Just remember to remove the cable from the guitar when you are not playing it.

if you look on the guitar center used website you can find some nice used mim fenders for $250-$300. they will ship to the your local guitar center or to your house. i think you should try the used guitar center website because you also dont have to worry about a guitar being fake.

Are they lace or EMG? I cant make any writing out.

Looks a good deal to me. You get about 1800 hours of use out of a single 9volt battery with active circuits. I have a EMG 81/85 set in my Jackson Dinky. I put it under the bed for 2 years, whipped it out plugged it in and the battery was still fine. It's not such a huge problem. I cant see a battery compartment but they can be housed in the control or tremclaw cavities.

Anyway its candy apple red, that means you have to buy it.
