Contact Fender Customer Relations and show them the pictures and serial number and when you get their response take it to the seller. He can't deny that kind of proof.

Here is a link to customer relations. Good luck!!

If he doesnt give you a refound or a VERY GOOD ANSWER you should put in this forum the address and name off that person or shop , he deserves that.

The shop is in Johor Bahru, around Taman Sentosa. Unfortunately, my uncle ask me not to confront him because the shop owner is a gangster. *sigh* =.=, Looks like I have to live with this "Fender". Now whenever I see my electric it makes me sad. Yesterday, I contacted customer relation, they say the serial number I gave did not come up in their database. So, it's confirm fake.

Shockwarrior, could you give me some pictures of your strat so that I could compare yours to mine because I want to confront the shop owner and I need some proof. Another thing the logo original corona body is there. Thanks in advanced.

This is a real one notice how on yours that back is all black?

Notice real ones come with real Fender SKB cases. The latest ones have big plastic latches. No case and its not a Standard model or above that is for sure.

Any Fender retailer should be able to pick these things a mile away.

You can contact Fender US customer relations and get them to provide information on that serial number you have. Get them to identify your guitar by serial.

Telephone: (480) 596-7195
Fax: (480) 367-5262
E-mail: consumerrelations@fender.com

Be vary wary when you take it back that you have everything you need as proof and take several friends/adults/police because if they are selling fakes they aren't going to be happy when you show back wanting your money.

Well you've either got to confront the guy, go to the police or trading standards authority, or alternatively forget about it and take it as an expensive lesson in guitar buying.

the cops wont do anything, not worth their time and there arent any real "trading authorities." i think it'll just have to be a lesson learned

Don't get yourself in too much trouble. politely tell the guy the story and show him the proof, if he is a so called gangster why should he care about it...he plays gangster not guitar.......he should give you another guitar of your choice in the price range you paid....don't expect your money back after a year, that won't happen, but be reasonable with him because you have had it for a year. As you are in Malaysia are you familiar with Kechara House and by any chance Tsem Tulku Rinpoche?

If you could show a few picts of under the hood (removing the pickguard) and show the wiring. I could tell you in a heart beat if this is fake. The details hidden in the wiring are often really cheap in the fakes. But as some people pointed out, 90% sure this a NOT a USA Strat. I would say Chinese copy...and they are doing a lot of supposed "USA" guitars.....
