I left my last post at lunch when I happened to glance at this thread. Now that I am home I have read through it.

I am not opieie.

There are some very rude and immature individuals on this forum. I didn't mind politely defending my position when I left my “Fender Quality” thread here, but watching some of you bully this opieie person for his/her observations about Fender guitars I find ugly. Some of you owe this person an apology.

I am really surprised that the forum administrator does not require individuals to treat others with a little more respect or ask them to leave the forum. (by the way Mr Moderator, when I signed up for this forum I registered with my real name, my real address and my real contact information because I stand behind what I say, so you can feel free to contact me at any time for verification that I am not posing as this opieie person just to stir things up).

When I posted here and complained about a non response to the letter I wrote Fender my thread was locked while I was defending my position. As far as I am concerned that was my answer from Fender. I have not brought it up since nor have I made any attempt to be retaliatory in any way. I said my piece and made my point and when my thread was locked that was the end of it for me. This is a public forum. The person who started this thread has a right to post their observations, thoughts and questions regarding Fender guitars regardless of weather you like what they are saying or not.

I'm going to have to say that I had a strange encounter at Sam Ash the other day myself. They were dropping prices on a lot of MIM Strats. When I picked up a bunch of them, I was pretty shocked at the feel of the frets. The 5 or so that I picked up were cutting into my hands on the edges. In fact not one of them didn't.

I checked out a couple of CV Squiers and the frets were much better and consistent. I walked out of there with a better feeling about the craftsmanship coming out of China rather than the Mexican craftsmanship.

I love Fenders, I have a couple of MIA Strats that I've had for many years. I just thought it was a shame to feel those frets. Even the Bullet Squiers had better fret jobs. I was pretty much convinced that every guitar in there had better fret jobs. I think the smoothest necks I felt that day were a tie between a Jackson and a BC Rich Mockingbird. The frets on those guitars were just beautifully done.

That was my most recent experience anyway. I have to call it like I see it. It's the truth. I was completely turned off by the MIM necks, and immediately just told myself," I wouldn't buy one of these". Who wants to buy a new guitar where the frets are cutting into your hands?? I think Fender should pay closer attention to their MIMs these days. That's the only opinion I walked out of there with.

PS.. I'm not going to vote on this. I think the $1,000+ MIA's are as good as I've ever run across in the past. But As it stands for me right now, I have to believe the quality of MIMs are starting to show signs of lower quality craftsmanship.

:D Hi there. Congrats on our American Standard Strats. My guitar is a 2008, ash body, sienna sunburst, maple neck (fits perfectly to body, no gaps between). From factory come with 0,009, six mounths after i changed for 0,010 and two months after put a 0,011 on it. No new regulations were necessary after all. It's a perfect guitar. The only needed required adjustment were about the setup for a 12th fret and 22th fret for to keep all in tune. Then i put a green mint pickguard and a white aged pickup covers and all went into fabulous. Some times i change the original strat pickups to samarium cobalt noiseless, that is great sound! To complet the game, the top of each polepiece magnet received a thin-layer of green glue. Thank you all and sorry for my bad english.

Dead strings are one of the biggest problems for dead spots on a guitar. You have to realize you have people coming in day after day playing these guitars which the store never gives a string change to.

I never buy in the big outlets and bought an American Deluxe Tele and Ash Strat last year both in Cherry Burst and could honestly say that Fender is making guitars as good if not better than ever.
