but just because they are made in mexico, u shouldn't write them off just yet, i played a Classic Players 50s Strat and the neck, and overall fit and finish of the guitar was much better than my American Standard.

As a basic rule of thumb, most of the American-made Fenders (except the Highway One) have the word American somewhere in the name: American Deluxe, American Standard, American Special, American Vintage, etc. 8)

agreed, the classic 50's Strat is a super super model. The classic 50's that is custom shop inspired is also super. I was very close to getting one myself but found a Hwy 1 that I liked better so I bought it, but I will be getting a classic 50's one day in the future, they are great.
