I was hoping to get some ideas on my road worn 50's strat to kinda bring it up to american quality.

Note: I love the neck and the pickups.
I dont care about the looks of it accept for the smoke stained
pickguard I got a mint green one on order.

Is there anything els worth doing like maybe tunners or somthing.
Thanks for the help.

I was going to drop a Tortoise shell pickguard on mine. And then eventuall some new pups.

Had the routing been HSH or a swimming pool route, I was dropping in a creme Super Distortion and PAF Pro on a Tortoise shell pickguard. The route is SSS, So I'm looking into the Super distortion single coil.

With all the different Fender Strats out there now, it's hard to keep up with the hardware they are installing. I know my Classic 60's had a weak tremolo unit. Cheap metal with lousy sustain as far as the saddles go. The bridge plate was not flat, and pretty crude beveling. I replaced mine with a drop in StewMac Gotoh vintage. Mine has the original spec 2 7/32" spacing so I would check yours before ordering. The tuners were not too bad, but I replaced them anyway with Gotoh vintage with a little work.
