My Buddy Guy (MIM) has a Deep V neck. Very Comfortable!

My Clapton Strat has it. I think its the most playable neck available.

I have been C-shaped for so long ... honestly, anything else for me is just really foreign. Nothing wrong with 'em ... I just have never gotten used to it to like it.

I don't have one, yet, but I have played a few and really like the soft V.

I like the one on my Hotrod. I have a Baja tele with a soft V neck too, though its chalk and cheese to the 57 Hotrod. Very very thick and rounded, almost like a 50's lespaul shape, but thicker. That guitar weighs 10lbn 9oz, I reckon 8lb of that weight is maple.

I don't like V necks, as I find them uncomfortable--the "tip" of the V is right where I put my thumb most of the time, so it doesn't fit.

But hey-if your hands and technique are different form mine, and they are comfortable for you--go for it.

I played a Custom Shop Strat with a V neck and it felt great. I played a '50s Classic Strat and it was OK. I guess like with any neck it just depends on the guitar, but I generally like V necks.

I like V necks. My favorites are on my Custom Shop '56 NOS and Clapton Strats and Baja Tele. I find myself yelling "batter up" every time I pick up the Baja. The neck is that beefy. :)

I think Zontar has a good point there, I have a deluxe v and love it, I personaly rest my thumb closer to the E string on the back of the neck (the flatter part of the V). However I had a teacher recently that was fanatical about having the thumb square in the middle of the neck and I did notice the sharper soft v point over a "C" shape and it was slightly uncomfartable but I got over it. I dumped the teacher!

A big fan of V-necks here. My Dean Leslie West signature has a very nice one. It takes the 'chunkyness' off a fatter neck, very comforatable to me.

I've played C-necks for years, took a bit to get use to the U-neck on my tele, but its my main axe now. I just got a deluxe V-neck strat, love it. :)

I LOVE a soft V neck, but it's really a matter of preference. If you play with your thumb firmly anchored on the back of the neck you probably won't find it comfortable. If you curl your thumb over the top of the fretboard (as I do) you'll either love a V or hate it.
