After playing my target amps I decided on the standard Blues Jr. I tried the NOS version but could not find $100.00 difference in tone.

This was a narrow decision. The Jet City 20 Watt Combo was really good, but I did find that the Fender factor (known amp vs. new guy on the block) was worth the extra 100 dollar price difference between the two.

Now I am going to sign off and enjoy my Strat as it was meant to sound, or at least as close as I am able to make it sound that way.

Great choice for an amp,I went the extra $50 and bought the blonde Limited Edition because it matched my Jimmie Vaughn Strat so nicely, and it was the amp I tried it out on.Enjoy,it's a little tone monster.

I picked up the NOS version. Love the tweed look and great tone from it, well worth the coin. Very versatile amp .

Congrats markara great choice. Everytime I plug and play my standard BJr, I remember exactly why I bought it in the first place. Enjoy your new amp. :)

The Blues Jr. is a great amp. It's my backup amp on gigs for one reason only - my main amp is a '66 DR. Before I got that the Jr. was the only amp I carried. I know a local player that has 5 of them.

Glad you are happy with the Jr. I bought one not realizing how loud it could be even set at #3. That baby really has much more juice than I thought a 15 watt tube amp would have. Certainly has a nice tone though.

Every so often it seems to pick up a radio station playing quietly in the background, even though I have it plugged into a line filter. It may be coming from a pedal or something. I guess a tube amp is somewhat of a radio circuit also.

Enjoy.

Yeppir, I have the BJr. NOS Tweed version and I'm very happy. That is one loud 15 watt amp. And boy do those tubes sound great. Glad you like yours markara.

A quandry, but maybe a good one and I need an opinion or two...

I have an opportunity to return my standard Blues Jr, get my money back and...

Purchase a new Blues Jr Tweed NOS still in the box for the same money!

This seems like a great idea...is it? I played the NOS and like it a lot and at the time I bought the standard Blues Jr would have bought the NOS because I have read about the upgraded speaker. The only downside to this in my eyes right now, is waiting the 5 days for the new amp to get to my house. The old bird in the hand deal.

I am definately leaning on doing this and need to pull the trigger tomorrow. Are there any things I might not be thinking about here? The source is very reliable. Major retailer with a beat any advertised price deal and I found a somewhat obscure ad for an NOS Blues Jr at $549.00 and I was offered a price of $510.00. In fact I will be paying less because I will not pay sales tax (out of state source) and the shipping is free.

You guys might even think I am stupid to just not do this, but I have come to respect the opinions and experiences here.

I'd go the Tweed. The speaker is (supposedly) better and they just look WAY cool.

It'd be worth the wait I reckon.
