I got the SCN's in my Dlx Strat, and i truly love 'em. They are great, 'cause I mostly play pretty Maiden'ish stuff, all the solos with the neck/middle pup(S-1) and with my digitech Hot Head and Bad Monkey, the sound is just awesome. Dave Murray is my true hero, and I'm kinda copying his solo sound, allthough he uses Hot Rails. But yes, I love 'em :)

Tone will always be the most important aspect of a player even over chops. I have heard guys who do not have the greatest chops in the world just slay with what they have and there tone. On the other hand I have heard many players blessed with incredible chops who sound like $@!&.

Readers ought to take some time to listen to the NAMM interview with Bill when he starts getting into impedance, resonance, capacitance and the lot. His most interesting comments refer to the length of the guitar cable. What about all the tone freaks chasing after artists who play wireless. :?:  Oh yeah......read that patent. That ought put it all to bed for ya. 8)

I'd love to listen to Bill's interview. :D Could you post a link? :?: I've ran a couple of searches here and I haven't found it.

TIA
Chris

They apparently discontinued the Silver Chrome finish I have on my SCN equipped 04 American Deluxe Strat.
I picked the maple neck too.
Not sure if it will be "sought after", I just love the sound and feel of it.

I don't think I ever "loved" the SCN pickups -- not as I do the earthy organic tones of my Fat '50s or the Stratty quack of my 57/62's -- but I do like them. And I find the S1 switching option to be especially useful for stage work. I have two guitars so equipped, both of them hardtails. This is my "Number One"...

The other is a slab-board '63 style in Firemist Gold Metallic.

Mark me as "fond" of the SCNs I guess.
