I purchased a body which was advertised as a MIM strat body. I recieved the body and after looking it over I discovered that the bridge is not the 2 1/16 wide, E string to E string, as MIM bridges are suppose to be. The bridge is actually 2 3/8 or 2.190. It is a Fender bridge, each saddle is stamped "Fender" and is one bent piece. It has 6 mounting holes. The bridge block is some sort of non-magnetic metal. So what model was this bridge used on? The body has a bath tub routing and is a two tone sunburst. What did I buy? Thanks. :?:

Bath tub routing and wide vintage tremelo? It sounds like maybe a MIJ body. I don't think there have been MIAs or MIMs that came like that. Maybe you have Fender saddles on a copy everything else?

Just curious ... can you see the seams on the body thru the burst finish? That is, how many pieces? 1? 2? 3?

Gotta agree with Nick there...need some large, clear pictures...preferably lots of them. Get some shots of the pickup cavity, the neck pocket, the front and back of the bridge, etc.. It's really hard to say what it is or what it may be without being able to see it. It's certainly possible that as GT suggested, it could just be a Fender bridge...or even Fender saddles on any kind of body but without seeing it there's just no way to be more definitive.

Peace,
Jim
