I think I might have one of these :-)

Would anyone be able to confirm it? It's a really nice strat but I've not been able to work out what the colour is.

This is called Caribbean Mist. It is a very nice color. Cool guitar! Here is one from my Strat Plus website:

Wow, Jeff, I had no idea you did this much research into the BG color. Good for you! The guy I bought my 1988 Strat Plus from swore it was Surf Green - which is what I was looking for - but when it arrived I was baffled as to what color it really was. Rummaging thru your website led me to believe it was Bahama Green, and I'm happy you confirmed that. Wish I could post a pic here, but I don't see how!!

Aa an interesting aside - somebody carved their initials into the paint in the swimming pool route of the Plus at the factory (MS). Those are also MY initials! SO, perhaps I was fated for this guitar....

And I bet you bought your guitar from a guy up somewhere close to where you live, like in NH or somewhere in New England? There was a guy that has an 88 like yours that emailed me and we went round and around about this color. He could not be convinced that it was not Sea Foam Green, even though I have never found records or seen a SFG Plus. I have seen yellowed Taos Turquoise that people thought were SFG, but..ummm... :? Even Bahama Green had me wondering for a long time (thus this thread! which was started how long ago???) but paint codes and guitars started to surface and then they started surface on ePay as well and selling for good money. You think there might be a connection? LOL!

Just like the person who sold a NOS Wilkinson Nut on ePay recently for $125. The last few weeks there has been about 5 Wilkinson nuts being sold....so people get on the bandwagon..,. You guitar is a very nice one. (and a great investment).

And are you sure those are not my initials in that guitar? Maybe i should have the police come and investigate???

Do these shots shed much light on what the true color of this Strat Plus Deluxe really is? I was convinced that it was Bahama Green earlier, and it looks much lighter and more blue, turquoise in this afternoon's sun light.

Any ideas about what the true color might be?

Not sure images came through.... They are indoor and outdoor shots of the same guitar...

I love that color!

I agree about the Taos color. It is really lovely. I though have doubts that mine is that color, because I think the Galaxy smartphone just doesn't see what my eyes see. When I held the camera display up to the guitar and looked at one, then the other with my eyes, I felt the camera "colored" things with more blue. Is there a way to test that, to check for a camera's hue bias? probably looking at some standard colors and seeing how the camera represents them, perhaps? I'm afraid the true color seems more like the Bahama Green, and perhaps not quite as lovely as the turquoise... Hard to nail these things... Thanks for your post...

Where color fidelity is imperative, I'll usually place a white 3x5 or 5x7 note card somewhere within the anticipated frame then use it for processing calibration when editing the photo with imaging software. Ultimately, the note card will be cropped from the pic and is never seen.

Of course, check for white balance... I think I'll work on that in the next day or so. Have a great 4th!

I can honestly say that this thread , Even thought started in 2010, really resolved some questions I had and due to the Fender Community, we were able to nail down Bahama Green on a Strat plus, as well as some other colors. For me, this is where the Forum shines. Thanks everyone for the input and continued discussions.....

Hi Jono, nice Strat Plus you have there :) Carribean Mist isn't too common as that colour was produced for a short time in the early to mid 90's. I have the exact same model guitar, perhaps from the same year.

Mine is a 1993 that I bought from Japan:

So, the difference between the Caribbean Mist and Bahama Green appears to me to be that the former has the metallic sparkle, and the latter is a solid rendering of the same similar color.

My picture, in the above link, has been re shot using a setting of daylight for white balance, and I think it's much more consistent with what my eye sees, and that is what I think the godfather moderator of this thread was inquiring about, this Bahama Green color. Thanks for jump starting this exploration, and for helping me get back in touch with my instrument... Happy 4th, as well.
