I have a 1981 Monaco Yellow Strat with Schaller tuners - I don't believe these are original. Does anyone know what kind of tuners should be installed on this guitar to get it back to original condition? Thanks!

I think it might be the F style tuners from the 70's, but Vintage Blonde might be able to answer, cause he has that guitar also.

Yeah, I thought it might be the 'F' style, but then I read somewhere that there is a difference in the size of the hole between late 70s & '81 -- don't know. I though they were the same.

Not sure. I know some of those guitars have the S9 serial numbers, so the necks might of been made in 79 so they might be the same.

There's several sets for sale on Ebay.

They have new sets that look like that too, for like $69.

Here's a set that's only $40

yeah looks like early 70's had smaller pegs, later 70's had larger pegholes.

Someone is selling ones from a 77 strat that says it's for the larger pegholes.
