I asked my Mom to guess what I named my hard drive and she guessed correctly on the first try. Although she nearly said Jimmie, I wonder why. I guess it really is that easy to guess what I'm thinking.

Strangely enough for a guy who names everything else that I own (my favorite is Stevie the TV)

Stevie the TV just inspired me to name my external hard drive Stevie.
Should be "Clive the Hard Drive"

You know, Clive would also be a great name for an overdrive pedal. In fact, Clive is now officially the name of my overdrive pedal. I'm gonna start naming doorknobs or something next.

In all the years I've been playing, I've never truly named any of them, believe it or not. As close as I got would be when I had multiples of the same model like for example, a Strat. They'd just be points of references like, "the red one, the white Strat, the 63" or something as generic as that but nothing more. I know I'm in the minority but that's the way it is and always was with me.

"Champ" is what I named my '02 Strat.
"Mutt" is the project Stratocasater (relic finish + Jaguar pickups + maple neck + vintage-style hardware).

Buying an offset-waist guitar hasn't went too well, so I've got my eye on a LPB '60s Classic Strat. Don't know what I plan on naming it, but it will wind up as my main guitar if I get it, so it will need a suitable name.

In tradition, though, I never name a guitar I own immediately after I buy it. I got the '02 Strat brand new for my 15th birthday (which was in '05; don't ask how that worked out) and named it a few short weeks ago. "Mutt" was the first Strat I ever bought (so, yes, it's a Squier) and it acquired its name after I envisioned what it would eventually be built into, a "mutt" of the two guitars which pushed vintage single coil electric guitars to their limits.

I haven't named my guitar... yet. Lucille (my mother's name) is taken, and Blackie too of course.

Like my motorcycles, the guitar will somehow pick it's own name. They have to be for a purpose not just for the sake of having a name.

My 17-month old grandson named my Strat "Gigi". It's kind of funny but
Gigi it is. (Hard G sound) :-)

Well I have a American Vintage 62' Reissue Strat in Sea foam green, I was always partial to calling her Stella** from The Grateful Dead's sweet tune Stella Blue, hey it is sea foam green, but its looks somewhat blue. And Garcia played a mean ash Stratocaster in 72' on the European tour, it was gave to him by Graham Nash, man could Jerry whale on that thing** For reference check out the album -Cd " Steppi'n Out With The Grateful Dead", and see the tune "The Greatest Story ever told" scorching wha wha Strat at its best** but the whole CD is a sweet 72' live concert album-Cd Peace**
