Strangely enough for a guy who names everything else that I own (my favorite is Stevie the TV) I have no names for my guitars. I do call them bad names at times when they don't automatically play what I want them to since human error is never to blame. :D

I don't really have names for my guitars, I mostly refer to them as what they are (Strat, acoustic, etc.) or their manufacturer (the Squier, the Oscar Schmidt, and so on) with the exception of my Joe Satriani edition Ibanez. I never ractually refer to it by a name, but I sometimes think of it as "Joe" or "Satch". Kinda wierd huh?

Foe the longest time I never understood people naming their guitars. Then one day I brought home a new Squier. My cat was curious what it was and came over to take a look. I kinda noticed a resemblance, so I named the guitar after the cat.

I named my Strat "Lonely Boy Jnr" after Vinny Pop's legendary Strat - the original Lonely Boy - which was not the first Strat ever made, apparently. :)

I tried to name my guitars that I owned about 25 years ago but it didn't stick...especially the one a girlfriend wanted me to name after HER!
I just call them the blue one,the green one, white, black etc.
I try to buy different colors when I do get another Strat even with different necks.

The only guitars I own that have names are my 65 Strat "The Baby" and my 66 Gretsch Tennessean"George"for obvious reasons.

The only guitar that I have with a name that really stuck is Tank, my Peavey T-60. It's called Tank because it's virtually indestructible. Once it was in a gig bag and it slipped off of my shoulder and hit my car door. The guitar has a tiny dent in it from that, but the car wasn't so lucky. Good thing it was an old crappy car that my Dad didn't really care about.

I could name my guitars after my favorite guitar players, but unfortunately it would be very confusing. My Strats would be named Jimi and Jimmie, and my Les Paul would also be named Jimmy.
