G strings... rattle... noise...
How many G string jokes can we make from that? 8)

Anyhow, back to maturity...

It sounds like you might be describing fret buzz? Have you recently changed string size? How long has it been since you have had the guitar set up? How old is the guitar? Did you lower the action?

Many variable here to look at.

Well...I used to think that my G string had some rattles like it was being hit by something but it turned out that it was just my beer gut bouncing when I started skipping down the street to old Stones tunes. A couple of nice long strips of duct tape did the trick...although now I'm just terrified to take the duct tape off again.......owe.

Ok...now that I've left everyone with a good terrifying visual, my work here is done...time for some sleep.

To the OP...yea....we need a bit more info than that.

Peace,
Jim

Only time I've ever had rattling is when I adjusted my string height from the bridge saddles. When one is slightly higher than the other, some times one of the pole lifts up off the bridge, rather than the 2 poles sitting flush on the bridge. When this happens and you play a chord/note/what ever sometimes the bridge saddle can rattle back and forth making a small but noticeable buzzing sound.

Check that your saddle's adjustable poles are all in full contact with the bridge is what I'm saying.

Well, there'll be no sleeping here (or eating for that matter!) until I can shake that little vignette thanks Jim! :? :(

Hhhmmm...maybe I should have said old Frank Zappa tunes instead of the Stones?

"I might be moving to Montana soon...to raise me up a crop of dental floss...raising it up...waxing it down...in a little white box that I could sell up town..."

LOL!

:-)
