An Ac30 will do whatever you throw at it. Beautiful amp.

I am in the market for a tube amp.

I have pretty much settled on a Blues Jr., however I saw some good reviews on the Peavey Valveking. The idea of a two channel 50W amp at less than $500 is at least appealing. I was wondering if it is too good to be true?

Thoughts?

How much weight should I give to a two channel amp vs one channel?

I like the Blues Jr and the AC 15 both. If you really like the Blues Jr., then I would go for it. I am not a big fan of Peavey amps, but I have to admit I have not played on one in almost 10 years. The Valveking might be a decent amp for all I know.

Are you sure it is a true tube amp or something a little different?

I was recently looking for a new tube amp as well.
Here is what I tried
Blues JR
Vox AC4tv
Marshall Class 5
Peavey Classic 30
Jet City 20W Combo

I liked the Jet City amp the best and ended up buying the 20W Combo. This is one amazing amp but are hard to find becasue they are so new. They are designed by Mike Soldano. Check out the youtube videos and the reviews.

You won't go wrong with the Blues Jr. I have one that I use for practices and small gigs. With that being said I voted for the Classic 30 because it sounds fuller (not as boxy) compared to the Blues Jr. and I'll eventutally add one to my stable. :?
