Can anyone help identify a guitar I just purchased? It's a Mexican made Stratocaster S/N# MZ21***** and was made between 2002-2003. The guitar has all gold hardware (pegs, bridge, jack, & screws) and a really unique translucent paint finish with white 3-layer pickguard. On the back you can see wood grain and on the front it's swirled, almost like flamed walnut. The guitar is all factory stock and I am wondering if it may be a special model run or something along those lines. Any Thoughts???

You have a couple of options here. You can email the derial # to Fender support and they can give you a comprehensive run down on the guitars specs and origins.

Or, you can post detailed pics to this thread and get the same results.

Did this guitar have Vintage Noiseless pickups?

Perhaps you mean this one:

FENDER "MILONGA" STRATOCASTER

A Fender made of walnut? Nope not gonna happen. Show us a picture. Your description is too vague.

It could be a real MIM Fender neck on a who-knows-what body. That's trouble with bolt on necks, you can swap bodies and neck.

Could be a modified delux player since it doesent have the S1 switch or the noisless pickups. but the paint and gold hardware go with the DP.

Fender UK Came through!!!

This was a limited run for a US retailer by the look of it. Model# 013-0109(538) Crimson Red Transparent, Adler body with Flame Maple Top & all Gold Hardware. They made just a limited number of 250 for Layne Kurr in 2002. Serial number matches this on FLIP.

Thanks To All
