I have a Fender Strat American Standard '91...i plan to change the stock pickup with seymour duncan aps-1.

Im looking for warmer vintage bell-tone pickup...Does anyone have experience with aps-1 on fender strat ?

I kinda nervous to change it, im afraid that the aps-1 doesnt better than the stock pickup...

Pls i need your opinios guys....thx

The APS-1s will indeed give you the warmer, vintage bell-tone you quest after and rather abundantly at that. You will have a softer, more spongy bass, a WELL enhanced midrange and smooth highs. What you will loose (in comparison to your stock pickups) is percussiveness in the bass, bright quack and screaming/penetrating highs. And yes, the APS-1s have the old style stagger so your G string will most likely be too loud in comparison to the B (and possibly high E) which may be perceived as too low if you use a light gauge string set with an unwound G. If this be the case, you may want to consider the APS-2s with the flat (even) polepieces instead. YMMV.
