1st. Chromeface love that set neck. Nice maple cap.

2nd. Xehfri Thanks I remember that color now. That is one sweet looking Ultra. How does she play? It appears to be in immaculate condition or do you just clean em up well?

chromeface, None of these guitars are yours? Did you find them on the internet or?

tdanb2003, this guitar plays and sounds fantastic. I get mixed reviews on the color. Some people like it and others, well are not too turned on. I see that the new Jeff Beck Strats no longer come in this color.

Do you think it would look better with a Pearl White pickguard?

Yes, they're mine.

They actually look different than the pictures shown above.

I've replaced the cheesy Gibson knobs on the Epi Explorer bass with golden knurled dome knobs.

The FG dreadnought has cross inlays on the fretboard, herringbone binding on the top, which is lightly tinted, an active 3-band preamp with a master volume control knob and an active/passive toggle switch.

Our basses are all strung with Fender lightgauge stainless steel flats.

Xehfri I wasn't a fan of the pearl pickguards until I put one on my black Strat. I think it would set off the black pups and knobs, but heck I like that red stripe on the black guard now...

Do it if you don't like it you can always change it back. I've got an extra tortoise shell guard I had on another one of mine but went back to the white after the novelty wore off.

If I used White Pearl it would also have white pickups and knobs! Like the Ultra in my pict!

Are you just going to drop the whole thing (Pups and all) in there? Certainly simpler just solder in two places and you're done...
Aww heck just keep it like it is... The purple and black is subtle. It kind of sneaks up on you...More of a stealth stage instrument.

LOL! Like that..a "stealth stage instrument." Ya if I wanted to change I have pre-wired Ultra assembles just setting on the bench, so just a matter of soldering the grounds and the hot lead. I bought a bunch of the Ultra pickguards sometime back from a guy who knew someone from Fender's Custom Shop. I was told it was the last of their stock for those form fitting pickguards. I usually have Chrome Dome pickguards pre-wired too but Lace has those on back order for a long time now. Maybe in about 2 more weeks, they say. They looks pretty cool! Here are some samples of white and domes:

I say yes. or keep it period correct, you could use a mint green one or an aged guard :)

It would be the same as the Ultra on my want-to-be avatar below! The thing is, it is not correct anyhow because it has a Ultra type setup on a Strat Plus guitar. So matching the stock look or type does not matter, at least to me!

Xehfri is the yellow ultra in the pictures above Graffiti yellow or is that Monaco yellow? It looks a little dark for Graffiti. I was drawn to that color it looks nice.

Graffiti all the way! Like a lot of the early Fender colors, they can vary due to UV exposure or mix at the plant. They never made a Monaco Strat Plus.... Thanks for asking! 8)

You're in AZ, there's a couple on Craigslist right now, a little overpriced I think, but you can offer less.

Three of these customized Pluses had an HSH configuration. One has a Natural ash body and two DiMarzio Classic humbucking pickups with chrome covers which complement the middle-position Lace Chrome Dome single-coil. The second guitar features a Crimson Burst finish and uses dual Chrome Dome humbuckers with two 3-way toggle switches while the third sports a black finish, DiMarzio Classic humbucker in the neck, Chrome Dome Dually in the bridge and an American Deluxe Locking tremolo assembly.

Chromeface is that your Blue Burst Ultra? I dont even take mine out much anymore, but the Plus Ultra series were some of the best looking and made guitars Fender made.

Xhefri I love the black pick guard, as it brings out the colors of the red, silver and blue signature on the pups and looks wild. That guitar is just off the chart. To be honest look at the finishes on all the guitars in this series that everyone posted, they even give a lot of CS models a run for there money. And Blertles that set neck quilt is as good as it will ever get.
