Oh yes great docu-film Hail Hail Rock and Roll with Richards, Clapton, and Robert Cray amongst a host of others. There is a great clip of Chuck playing a ballad while he is by himself that is brilliant. I believe we all felt for Keith in that one as he was as Doc stated totally abused and disrespected and just about anyone else would of walked out.

Keith even goes into telling of Chuck punching him in the face which has happened more than once, and ends it with next time I will punch back. The star power that was there made him rise to the top of his game and I even remember him really enjoying Clapton and pushing him to take another solo. The guy was one of mine and just about everyones heroes even if they dont know it as everyone from Angus to Vanhalen has mined Berry's licks. I also think he is a mean $@!&$ who feels as though the world has done him wrong. When you think of it the man should be treated as a national treasure like BB King, but by his own actions and misdeeds it is as if no one even really cares.

I have seen Springsteen amongst others huge stars tell of when they were cutting there teeth and word would come in Berry was coming to play and you got the gig with no pay and took it just to play with a legend without a rehearsal. Then he would kick off songs in Eb, or Ab and not even tell the band what key he was in.

You watch the interviews with BB, the guy is go gracious and kind. He is a great guitar player but does not flaunt himself. He just loves music and the people who love music. What a contrast.... my kind of guitar hero.

Quite a few years ago my BIL worked with the Kentucky Headhunters and they recorded an album with J.Johnson,IIRC,I know he gave me a copy but have no idea where it's at....I did get a box of cool little shot glasses that were a dark smoky purple and they are labeled the Headhunters and Johnson...I'll have to look.
It would be an interesting CD to listen to.....
and yep....everyone has copped Berry's licks, even if you don't know you have. :)
