Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but, I am looking to either have a fret job on my 1987 MIJ strat or replace the neck completely. Its a 22 fret maple neck.

Can I drop a Fender USA 22 fret onto the MIJ body?

My personal opinion is to have a fret job done on the original neck.

Definitely a fret job if you like the neck and there's nothing wrong with it.

Depends on what you want to spend because a fret job will be more then a new neck. That is unless you know how to do it your self.
