I have a chance to buy an 09 deluxe strat, 2-tone S.B, V-neck, Modified with Semour Duncan Hot rail P.U at bridge and a S.Duncan Humbucker, single coil shape at neck, the mid P.U is stock. It has a metal brushed copper color Pick-guard. I'm told the guitar in original stock is a deluxe 57 reissue. It also comes with a Fender western tooled hardshell case for $1300.00. I love its feel and tone. I'm curious if you guys think its a good deal and if there are any spec's/imfo on this guitar in stock condition. Thanks, Dutch. :)

I dont remember that from the American Deluxe line, if it is stock.
Google cant find anything on it, put 57 deluxe strat into google and all you get is 57deluxe amps.

Where theres one lie theres usually a good few more so be careful mate

Bobby

It could well be mate, but if it is then the owner has modded it. That could be the only little white lie along with the name.
It's worth a look if the price is right'ish. I'd be very cautious though.

I bought a 4x12 cab yesterday loaded with celestion vintage30 speakers for the bargain price of £120. It arrived today super fast delivery. First thing I did was take the back off the cab and have a nose. The speakers aren't branded Celestion, as far as I know Celestion dont allow re-branding of their speakers. I then put the cab back together and plugged it into my 5watt vibrochamp of all things. The cab sounds nice, really nice. So I weigh the sound up to the price I pay and decide it's worth the money and is a keeper.
I contacted the seller and asked him about the speakers, yeah their rebranded vintage 30's, was the reply.
It sounds right for the right money, if your aware that not all is as should be, and can be happy with what you have/ are offered. Theres no harm and no foul. After all the way something sounds is way more important than what its branded as, aslong as your not being ripped off. We only ever got into this world to make sounds after all.

Thanks guys, Its a real nice deluxe strat ( DZ9.....), and I like the sound of the modified P.U's. Store owner might think it is modeled after a 57 reissue, due to S.B color and V-neck. The western tooled fender case is sweet. He's holding the guitar for me and said I can take my time with layaway. I'm thinking of selling my 07 american standard sienna burst (ash) strat, I don't think they use ash on that model anymore. I like that guitar, but feel I would use the deluxe more. thanks for the input, dutch. :)

Dutchy since you are looking for a player go check it out and if it is right take it home, but you know the resale value is dead as it has been modded up. You can find a lot of nice Strats in that price range on ebay that have been modded and are strictly players. I also think you will be able to grab a Deluxe cheap maybe for a grand as all the major stores will be blowing out there old stock to make way for the new revamped Deluxes, as we have seen already by GC.

Thanks, Went back today. She plays, feels and sounds sweet. I took a closer look at the P.U's. Neck P.U is a S. Duncan 59, Mid P.U is a S. Duncan 57, Bridge is a S. Duncan 57 hot rail P.U. He is giving me the stock P.U's and pick guard also. Can't wait to pay her off, and play thru my amps. :)
