I just purchased what I thought was an American Standard but it's actually a hwy one. I didn't even think of that when purchasing. I know, i'm an idiot, you don't have to remind me. Is $700 too much for this guitar? It sounds good and I like the honey blonde. I can return it (lose $20 shipping). Thanks.

Considering $700 is the price of a brand new one

I'd say yes, you paid too much. On the other hand, if you like it, what does it matter?

How much did you pay for that? Its a 2004. Are you suggesting you paid $700 for that?

Your pictures show receipts from Guitar Center and a price tag of $359????

If you paid $700 for that, you got hosed. You should return it right away and forget the $20.

If you paid $359 for NOS (New Old Stock), you'll be OK.

+1 I think my '05 was $450 w/ HSC.

I've seen the '06 (upgraded) Hwy 1s going for 4-500 with molded Fender cases.

That's the used price. Go to Guitar Center's website, click on the used gear tab, and type in Highway for guitars... you'll find it there... Remember, I'm from Detroit...

You could pay that price for a new Highway 1 or an American Special for $99 more dollars. I think you got hosed. I think the clerk (lol) did not know what they were doing (or maybe they did  ) . But with the price tag that says (I think) $359, I would take it back for a refund. If you truely like it, I would then buy it back for the $359 price.

I love my Highway 1, I have an '07 model which has the bigger headstock. There is no mistaking my guitar for an American Standard.

Well that price tage says rosewood bridge and mahogany neck, so I think it's from another guitar.
