I'm really happy with mine as well and am not complaining - I just don't get why the only marking is that "60" button on the back of the headstock. I sent Fender an email - I guess we'll soon see.

Dang, the pic is blocked for me at work. How did you "relic" your guitar? I accidentally banged the headstock against a door the other day and considered that "antiquing"

OK folks, according to Fender ALL the Strats built in 2006 get the "60" emblem on the back of the headstock. Anniversary editions get the additional front and neck plate treatments. I guess mine is just an American...not Anniversary.

Thanks to everyone for trying to help me figure this out!!!

Hi,

First it's not only '06 Strats that have the button on the back of the headstock. I have an '06 Precision Bass that has it.

I also own a 60th Anniversary Strat which in addition to the button on the back of the headstock also has a 'sixty years' logo on the front with a (fake) diamond between the words 'sixty' and 'years'. The necplate has a diamond image with 60 in the middle followed by 'Diamond Anniversary 1946-2006'. The guitar also comes with a special silver hard case.

Here are some pics:

BTW, this is the US version, I know nothing about the Mexican version.

awesome pics, sweet true 60th anniversary strat, the other ones with 60th button behind the headstock, i believe all 2006 guitars came with that. if it has the corona, calif, behind the neck joint, well it means its a true american strat.

all in all, sweet guitars. dont fret on it too much, ehhh.
just kidding fret away my strat brothers, fret away.
