I am looking at saving up for a Strat. I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio and am looking at getting a Strat. My only question is should I go for the American Standard or save up the extra for the Custom Shop Custom Classic that sells for about 2 grand. I have played the American Standard, but have not yet had a chance to play around on the Custom Shop. Is there much of a difference? Is it worth the double in price?

I will go play one, when I can find one, but what are your guys' opinions on em?

Thanks

Have a go on a Custom Shop and then decide.
I'd personally go for the standard. You'll save more dough.

The only thing you're going to get out of the Classic is finer details. Not better sounding, just better looking. Question is would you take that guitar to a club or bar where it can be stolen, damaged, or otherwise prematurely "road worn"?
