Hey Fender Freaks!

I've had my Highway One for 5 months and I love it except for the tremolo arm. I have no issues with the bridge or the block but it seems to me that the metal of the tremolo arm on this MIM synchronized vintage bridge. It's too soft.

I have Fender 250 Super Bullet (.10s) with 4 springs and the bridge floating at 1/8". I use the tremolo mostly for chord vibratos. I'm not a Heavy Metal dive bomber or I'd get a Floyd Rose equipped RG or something like that. I'm mostly Blues/Jazz/Rock guy yet my tremolo arm is bending inward from the upper 1/4 of the threads on up.

I have an American Deluxe and that arm feels like a solid stainless or tempered steel. Are there stronger arms that fit the stock block of the Highway One that is stronger--like maybe a signature or custom shop quality replacement that will fit?

I know that Callaham offers a great replacement block and the Virtual Pop-in Arm but I can't believe that replacing the block is my only option for fixing a rubber arm.

As always, your help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I had the exact same problem on my vintage hotrod. I've other guitars with vintage trems and their perfect.

I really think its a metal integrity issue. Occasionaly you get a weak bit of metal in the arm and it bends. My MIM arm has never done it in 15 years.

I've not had this problem with my Highway, and it occasionally gets a real trem workout as I indulge my Jeff Beck moments!

Certainly worth trying a new arm. I'm sure your local Guitar store can provide you with one. They're hardly expensive.

Good luck

It just seems that you got a bum piece of metal as the others said another arm should do the trick.
