On a recent post I've read that you own an Eric Clapton Strat. This guitar has Gold Lace Sensors and an active mid-boost circuit on it.

Have you tried the mid-boost with different colour schemes than the Golds, e.g. Reds, Blues and Purples?

Did you know that the mid-boost works very well with humbucking duallies?

You can also use the newer Fender bodies with the universal hum/single/hum rout and Deluxe necks with abalone dots. The new Fender non-veneered alder and ash bodies are much better than the bathtub routed ones you're actually employ.

A good thing is to stick an HSH set of Red Lace Sensors on an American Deluxe body and use them with the TBX and the 25dB active mid-boost. Don't forget to add the two 3-way toggles to split the humbuckers and a Fender/Floyd Rose tremolo system with locking tuners and LSR roller nut.

No Didn't get a chance to go yesterday, it's like a 3 hour round trip and didn't have that much time to spare.
Did you email him about the pics or anything? I noticed he doesn't have the pics on the ad anymore?
I'm also watching one on Ebay so might bid on that first and see what happens.

There's also a AV 62 resissue that looks nice that is cheaper. So I was maybe thinking of getting that instead, but it's a sunburst, and if I got a 62RI I would like it to be LBP or maybe sherwood green.

Hi, Yes i have experimented with the 20db boost with other pickups. On my customized page I have this guitar:
Image
While it did not have the Clapton boost it had one similar. It is wired like a Strat Ultra but has a MuzicTech 20bd boost with tone shaping. When the lower tone control is pulled UP the wiring is stock like an ULTRA but the tone controls will not work. This is not a problem as most of us run the tone controls wide open anyhow. When the lower tone control is down the bottom tone control controls the amount of boost and the upper tone control shape the sound. You can get those famous Clapton tones like on his signature Strats, but with a lot more shaping and tone variations. And since it is wired like an Ultra, you get the special effects of using the Mini Switch to split or change the bridge pickups. You can see the rest of the guitar here:

I want to build another one like this but different pickups. When i get back tot he States i have several project lined up!

This Ultra is a real beauty.

Very nice 3-tone sunburst finish over a flame maple top. Great!

The ebony fretboard looks astounding with the abalone dots.

I would be very happy to see the same guitar refitted with an all-maple neck (with abalone dots, of course).

The problem is the American Deluxe necks produced from 2002 until the recent discontinuation of the 2004 series models had a contoured heel.

If you've the chance to find an early American Deluxe neck from the 1998/2001 period, I'm sure it will surely fit on the Ultra body.
