This 1997 Fender Ultra is up for sale on Craigslist. Wondering what you know about it? The pic is the same one you use in your sig, and the pics are on your webpage. So I assume it used to be yours. Did you sell it to someone in AZ? What do you think of the price?

I talked to the guy, and I guess he just used your pics because he didn't have any pics and his looks the same as yours. I might go look at it tomorrow.

Hi Jason: can't help on any of that, but just a headsup - last I heard Xhefri was headed into the jungle for a few days. So if you don't get an answer immediately, just bump your thread later so's he sees it when he's back.

Oh look; I just bumped it for you once already... :D

Cheers - C

Thanks for the post, just out of bed here in the Philippines as it is 6:20 am. I will be headed back to the States next Wednesday. Looking forward to it as I have 4 new guitars waiting in my shop that I have not yet taken out of the box! All Strat Plus' of course! And to some food besides rice and rice and eggplant and.......rice......

I have been having this happen more and more and have thought about water coloring a logo into the pictures but doing so would mean a ton of work. A guy on ebay up in WI used my pictures for his Black Jade Strat Plus DX, a very rare guitar, wrote a very vague description. A eBay user contacted me.

I contacted the seller to see if it might be a eBay hacker, he wasn't. So told the guy some ramifications in doing this. I explained that if his guitar was not near as nice as the pictures, the buyer was going to be pretty upset (as my Strat was mint), and also the ethics of using someone else picture to represent his guitar taking from a website. Anyhow he sold the guitar and I watched his fedbacks and never saw if he got a + or -.....

I have mixed feelings about the whole thing....

He said he was flexible on the price so we'll see. I paid like $600 for that ebony frost plus deluxe. So I was thinking $800-$850 Max if it's in good condition
And if the case is the nice Tweed fender case.

Ultras shipped with a grey faux-snakeskin case, so don't be too disappointed if it's not a nice tweed! On the plus side, it will have been well protected.

The ad says hard tweed case, but it could be one of those generic ones that cost $50. I'm supposed to call him tomorrow before I go so I'll double-check all that before I make the long trip, it's about an hour and a half from me.

Thinking about getting this for my son

I don't know anything about drums though? I'm sure it's a cheap kids set, but looks ok for the price. Cheap enough to see if my son is interested but don't have to feel like I threw away money if he's not.

Jeff, you're a fond of the Plus Series guitars.

How do you think about making a special page dedicated to the Plus series basses (especially the Boner models with the long cutaways)?

You have customized the Fender Plus series and their Japanese counterparts throughout the years. I bet that you can do the same custom jobs for electric basses as well.

Great idea! The problem I have is, I do not find Plus Bass' very often. In fact I rarely see them on eBay. Maybe i will look a little harder! thanks for the thought!
