Post subject: fretboard finish

i hate the finish fender started putting on the fretboard. can i order an american deluxe with a maple neck on it that does not have the finish on it? i know they exist cause i found one in a local shop but its an hss and i want an sss. also the serial number starts with cz, does that meen they put a custom shop neck on it?
