Hello to all,

I am getting ready to sell my 1960 Stratocaster neck and tuners and the big question for me is how can you tell if it is a reissue or the real McCoy?

The neck came with a body that turned out to be a "who knows what" and therefore I was left wondering about the neck. I have shown it to several local shops and they say it is a legit 1960 neck so that is the good news. I guess I am now looking for a few more opinions.

The tuners are single line Kluson Deluxe and the E in Deluxe is on the casing not wrapped around like the reissues and the tuning stem/shaft sticks out a bit at the bottom.

I added one string tree and I believe the other one is original.

The fret markers and side markers are made of clay.

The date 7-60 is penciled on the heel of the guitar under the finish. There are a couple of cracks in the heel although they have been there forever and I think they must be stable?

The truss rod screw looks correct as does the position it is in on the neck. In the attached pics there are what appears to be white areas around the screw holes and these are areas where the finish is chipped away.

Lastly the logo looks original - pointy E's are there and the neck does not appear to have been over sprayed.

So there you have it - When I sell it I want to be sure it is what I think it is and I want the buyer to happy with their purchase.

If anyone has an opinion I would love to hear it and assuming it is the real deal what would be a good price to ask.
