well, i almost sold the bassman, for what a new hrdeville costs.
got really cold feet, i mean they were frostbitten.
a guy came over offered me 900 bucks, cash.
told him i would think about it.
today i got home.
plugged in straight from am deluxe, am std, and cp 60s, to bright channel 1.
vol 12, treble 4,bass 1,prescence 9, mid 9.
then i let her rip. TONE....TONE... AMAZINGLYFRIGGIN TONE..
then i totally felt like. yeah, this is why i bought it in the first place.
 , at 900, felt like i was practically giving it away.

by the way, another topic.
i lined out my superchamp into the aux/mic section of my spiderjam.
considering the speaker is 8 ohms. tried it out. the spider jam was acting like a 1x12 cab. i totally loved the tone.

sorry guys, didnt mean to post an amp topic here.

$900 bucks would be a decent price for a sale, definitely more than what a shop would give you. I wouldn't see the reason for selling that amp though, with a nice set of tubes I bet that amp could kill in the tone dept. Plus it makes a nice companion to the super champ if you need higher volumes or some good old fashioned tube overdrive.

i was playing with the idea of getting a rig with reverb, and a seperate gain fx.
at that volume, i dont think it needs reverb,+ it really isnt that heavy.
i consider myself lucky, having that amp.

I have a 69 Silverface Bassman and Bill Gates doesn't have enough bucks to get it from me.I run it through either my Marshall 1960 4-12 cab,my Leslie Model 16 or both, the sound that thing makes is tone heaven when you crank it it has a real nice and dirty warmth. If you want reverb Boss makes a tidy little Fender Reverb pedal that's quite realistically close to the spring driven unit of the 60s.

Mate you were very very lucky that the common sense fairy sprinkled you with comnmon sense dust before you took the cash.

I dont own a bassman, I've recorded through one once. If I owned one, I dont think I'd want anything else aside from a gain amp. Yeah I know they have great drive, but its never going to do bonecrushing ultimate grindcore is it? Luckily it excells at what it does do, a huge warm broke up classic american tone.

As far as reverb goes, theres a multitude of options. Mod a effects loop into the amp and plant whatever you want in there. Mod a spring reverb into it, not easy but will be permanent.

Personaly I'd spend a hundred quid on a good digital reverb and just put it into the front end of the amp. A lot better option than selling the amp.

BTW 2 days ago I put my vibrochamp into a hughes and kettner 4x12. That sounded brilliant, really powerful. I'm gonna make a 2x12 cab for it.

vibrochamp into 4x12, it must have had an amazing tone. alot more headroom thats for sure.

as for the drive in the amp, at the settings i had it in, it almost behaved like a midboost. let me explain, the volume was set at 12, on the am deluxe, it was set at 5, i was getting really clean, with just a tad of breakup, but when i cranked up the vol to 7-10, wow...i was getting more of a thick overdrive sound.. absolutely no pedals.

when i 1st purchased the amp, i was driving it with pedals, now i know it may not need any, maybe a line 6 delay.
