Hi all,
I'm thinking about getting one of these and the only thing -besides the price- that's stopping me is the fear of it being too noisy, given it's an exact replica of an early '69 Strat.
Does anyone have any first hand experience with it to give me an opinion about it in general and the pickups in particular?

Yeah, I was talking about the hum, sorry about my English.
I know it's hard to get rid of it, I just wanted to make sure before getting too enthusiastic about the '69.
BTW, do you know what kind of modifications were popular in the '70s to avoid the 60Hz hum? If I get that guitar I would be interested in noise cancelling the "old way".

Shielding the inside of the guitar with either copper tape or paint.

That humming noise what everyone hates is over-rated. I can't understand how it would actually put someone off buying it.
I'v got the Time Machine '69 strat, and its fine.

I agree! It doesn't bother me at all!

I agree, the only times I have ever heard a guitar actually humming loud enough to be an actual nuisance while playing were
A) in a buddies house with super old wiring,
B) in a bar we played in with a ton of OLD neon signs all around the bandstand, newer signs aren't the same kind of issue.
C) through one friends amp, it is a Deluxe Reverb, same year as mine, same configuration, yet our strats hum like crazy using it, but not through my amp. I assume it is a problem with his tubs or something. (My amp is in much better shape, even though it was used for gigs, and his never has been.-he got his from his dad who bought it new and never played out either. i got mine at a garage sale, i can't say what it was used for before i got it.)

I hink a lot of people over exaggerate this hum, you'll never notice it playing out, but you will if you are on your couch facing the TV.

Thanks for the replies guys, it's a bit comforting to hear that the hum is not that bad after all. I really want that guitar. One problem could be that I play by myself at home all the time, using backing tracks (nobody where I live in South Florida is interested in the least about forming a Deep Purple tribute band :() which brings the hum issue back. Also, the DiMarzios on my Yngwie Strat are so quiet that I'm afraid it would make me hate those '69s even more. One the positive side, I can always return the guitar if I don't like it. :)
