I agree with Nevin,a relic like that should be kept in the family and passed down through successive generations,there must be some players in your family who would appreciate the significance of that guitar as it would be a pity to pass it to some twit who'd drop in Duncan pickups and have it painted Candy Apple red(I've seen it done).BTW don't alter one thing on the guitar or amp as it could be a mistake costing you thousands of dollars.I checked on the amp and it's worth about $4,000 so you have yourself a pretty valuable and historically significant package.Anyway the best of luck with it all,keep us posted.Oh yes I forgot to add one more thing,I did some more checking and it turns out that we're related lol.

PS---I can't stress this too much,whatever you do make sure that it goes to someone who will treat it with all the love and respect it deserves,I say that because a true guitar addict would cherish that guitar as much as life itself.
