Anyone own or have experience with the 50's classic series MIM Stratocaster with the 7.25 radius or any 7.25 radius?

I have been wanting one of these for ages but never had a chance to play one for more than a few minutes in the shop. I understand the differences in the radiuses but have seen so many different feedbacks which said you will fret out alot or other complaint. I figured you guys would know and be able to help. I finally have a chance to get one brand new on a super super deal and I am so tempted to jump in the offer.

Is fretting out a major concern or what else should I know about this 7.25 radius? Thanks in advance!

No fretting out problems with my Classic 50s, or on my original '65 Strat or '65 Mustang Reissue. I grew up (allegedly) with that radius and it feels natural to me. It's a very nice guitar.

I have owned my Surf Green Classic 50s for almost two years.

I did swap out the original pickups for SCNs after a year of living with the stock pickups. If I had it to do over again I probably would have gone for a 57/62 set.

Blackcat if the deal is great jump on it. Once the guitar is set up proper you should have no problems fretting out. I dont know where you heard that from but a few things can cause that problem. But I never heard on a whol of it being a problem with that model.Hot looking Surf Green John.Bohn.

Hey guys, thanks for the info. I just heard that various places, people have said the 7.25 radius is better for playing chords and it has a tendency to cause you to fret out on big bends. I never understood how that would be an issue. I just have a chance to get one brand new for $600 with a Fender hard case and that sounded like a great deal to me. I really really want the shoreline gold but might settle for the fiesta red or surf green at that price!

Thanks fellas! And if anyone else has any info chime in

I love my newly aquired Shoreline Gold Classic 50's Strat. No problems with fretting out here either. Can't comment on the stock pickups. I got mine with Van Zandt True Vintage already installed.

I'v got one with a 7.25 radius, and I'v got no complaints. I just wind the action right up anyway, so I wouldn't have no fretting out, but if you use low-action, they fret-out... it all depends on how good the set-up is though. I'm no pro at it all, so I just put the action high.

The current price on the online music sites is $700 with a gig bag so $600 with a Fender hard case sounds like a good deal to me. Having a choice of colors would make it even better.

Shoreline Gold might be a tough find. It's not listed as a current color choice (very cool, DamnYankee) but Daphne Blue, Fiesta Red and Surf Green all look great. I had a choice between 2 Color Sunburst and Surf Green and it didn't take long for me to yell surf's up.

John

Daphne Blue is one of the sexiest Strat colors there is, imho.
