Well I'm quite stunned, from both parties.

I wouldnt worry about angled neck screws. If anything the angled screws will provide a bit extra strength. Not something I'd mod on a perfectly drilled guitar. Not something I'd worry one jot over either.

That looks to be a near perfect representation of Candy Apple Red too. Wish I could get that degree of vibrancy into a picture. It's like the little girl in Schindler's list. It just drowns out everything else in the picture.

Sweet customized neck plate.... thats fantastic! Love the candy-apple red too.

Squire + Upgraded electronics really is a great way to go for affordable tone. Plus if removing the rear plastic tremolo plate adds to tone, that neck plate must have made your guitar sound like a screaming phoenix ;)

Did Ceri make 5-bolt neck plates for the American Deluxe series basses?

russianracehorse,

Looks awesome. Love the way it looks on your guitar.

Ceri,

You are a man with loads of talent. Nice job. I would love to see what you could build if left alone in the Custom Shop for a week.

That plate looks really good, and it seems that Ceri actually planned on it fitting that perfectly with the plastic bushing plate. Only on the Fender Forums could this deal have gone through this well. Hats off to both of you.

The neckplate adds a very cool look to an already nice guitar. Congrats R.R.

I'd spend that week walking around, gazing, and wiping drool off my chin. That would be my week's achievement...!

Ha! You're too kind, BastardN, but I can't take much of the credit. I didn't actually draw that Phoenix design--I actually found it on achildren's coloring pages website!

I used it for my old unit's coin and recommended the design to Ceri for his Phoenixcaster. I was merely the lucky beneficiary of his talents and generosity when he decided he couldn't use it for his own project. 8)

I love that neck plate. It amplifies (pun intended) the awesomeness of that red strat. I would definitely purchase one...I even have an idea in mind! :D
