I liked the version of "Sunshine of your Love."

It is neat to hear things from Jimi that we haven't had the pleasure of hearing, and "Valleys Of Neptune" is pretty awesome work even unfinished. And Jimi is a true Stratocaster hero, but after reading all this about Jani, I am kinda wishing I haden't threw down the cash for all the 180gram albums like I did. But out of all this hopefully some new fans will be turned on to Jimi that may not have before, and you never know who may be inspired and where it leads. I would love to see some new video released. I have The Blue Wild Angel from the Isle of Wight Video, and he lights the Strats up full force, and he also rocks out on his Gibson Flying Vee man he could Bleed those Marshalls like no other*** Stratocaster or Flying Vee*** We all miss him very much.. R.I."Peace" Jimi.

I hate to open this can of worms but anyone that is worried about not being a part of Jimi's exploitation, sorry to say it's way to late. He has been ripped from the go as have most artist. That's the nature of this business. If it wasn't her it would be someone else in the industry. I'm not giving her a pass but I know this game. The focus here is the art and appreciating it. The music biz is dirty but the art is not. If you only listened to non exploitedd artist you would hear mostly silence. Sad but true. It's a conflict but I'd say enjoy the work of true master. That's what he was all about.

Hi Xhefri,It's no secret that those supposedly closest to Jimi during his life ripped him off to no uncertain extent,in fact about the only true friends that stuck by him were Billy Cox,Buddy Miles and by far the best friend he had who really cared for him Eric Burden of the animals. The fact is that janie hendrix only met Jimi briefly twice as a matter of fact on his last call home he didn't even remember her name. She makes a big deal of how she loved her"big brother"but makes no mention of Jimi's surviving siblings (they weren't wealthy and only one-Leon was born without didabilities).janie is not a blood relation of Jimi, her mother married Jimi's father Al in the late 60s,I don't know for sure if Al even adopted her. A lot of people question Al's mental state when he signed over complete control of Jimi's estate to janie rather than Leon or another blood relative. It's no secret that Leon has had substance abuse issues but she has never seen fit to help him-her other "brother"-out.Jimi had 2 sisters,Kathy Ira and Pamela and 2 brothers Leon and Joseph, none of the surviving siblings get a penny.janie hendrix is as far as I'm concerned a heartless, oppurtunistic, mercenary concerned only with her own financinial gain and I absolutely refuse to put one cent her way, that's why I will be pirateing this and any other of Jimi's recordings.

Thanks guitslinger, that helps me to understand and I am on the same page with you. I know, like you said, Hendrix was being used by a lot of people especially his managers and promoters. It well contributed to his death. I saw the Hendrix Tour last year and Mitch Mitchell and Billie Cox were part of it with Buddy Guy. Two nights after they played in our area they found Mitch Mitchell dead in his hotel room. Heart failer or stroke if I remember right.

So right! that is why, back in the late 1970s and early 80s I drop from the whole scene. I was offered to tour with a very well know artist and just could not bring myself to do the the audition. What I often saw was: used, abused and then tossed aside, especially back in those days. I cleaned up and wanted to stay clean. So happy I did as now music and guitars are something I love rather than something I dread. (No offense to you working musicians!) When you play pro and have to "perform" even when you do not "feel" like it, then it has become a "job" and the "fun" is all gone!

I'm listening to it right now and I agree it is a great CD. It has the same feel as "BB Sessions", Jimi tearing up his own songs and a few covers, while I think "Voodoo Soup" and "South Saturn Delta" seemed more "new material".

Geez, I'm listening to "Sushine Of Your love" and the bass solo part is rad! I can't wait for "Red House".
