email me at toliverlyons@gmail.com I have some info on attaining music that I would prefer not to put out there... 8)

I'm looking forward to one of my friends buying it so I can "evaluate" it on my PC.

I agree with you Guitslinger though I probably will get a copy, but she is one person that I dont want to give my money to. I am also weary of the quality of the music that is on there. I mean since Jimis death they have been pumping out an awful lot of albums and are probably sifting through every can to see what he played on.Who knows how much of this music he actually would of released. I mean bands have scrapped whole albums for not being up to snuff. This gots here his sister would release anything just to make a dollar.

Took the words out of my mouth, it's just like all of those rappers/hip hop "artists" that posthumously release 17 albums. Their families squeezing more blood from the stone...meh..- :?

easy there on the rappers... there were only two with posthumous releases that were anything of relevance..B.I.G. & Tupac...don't slander a whole genre..... 8)...and they are true artists.....not "artists" as you choose to put it..... :?....and no I am not a rapper......unless it's christmas 8)

Just a second there Trauma, When I say "artists" (I don't mean to be misunderstood in this) I mean the Engineers copying and pasting voices and snippets from unfinished songs to form "finished songs".
I am in no way slandering any genre. I do appreciate the genre and hope to make myself clear. I didn't mean to sound negative in the statement.
I just hate when they misconstrue an artists vision. It dilutes the music. 8) -N

Could you expound on what your talking about? I have read a lot about his life but know little about what happened with what little he had left over after his death. I know I saw some of his things at the Rock museum in Seattle WA build by Paul Allen of Microsoft fame.

I listened to it. I wish Jimi could have lived long enough to make just one more LP so we wouldn't have all these incomplete tracks that they keep releasing. Everyone should listen to it because there are some nice pieces on there, but don't buy it, Jimi's music should be free to be enjoyed by everyone, not used as a lemonade stand for Janie Hendrix to get some coin.

Hello. I went to Rollingstone.com and listened to it. It is great. I've been a long time listener of Jimi and give this a thumbs up. The cover of Sunshine of your Love is absolutely sick. I understand the politics of it all but this is good stuff. I don't think he would have issue with it being released.

I got Valleys Of Neptune and the 4 reissues (Electric Ladyland, Axis: Bold As Love, Are You Experienced and First Rays Of The New Rising Sun) yesterday. Awesome. Valleys version of Red House is the best ever in my opinion.
On a personal note everyone in the industry is a money grubber. Who gives a $@!&, it's Jimi.

Yeah, I kind of think so to. Why are we suddenly morally conscious about buying a Hendrix CD when most everything else we own is made using underpaid workers who are practically slaves in the far east? I'm not making excuses for the way in which the Hendrix Estate has been handled, but let's put things in perspective.

...Although that Gibson/Hendrix guitar monstrosity was truly a crime against humanity.

Hi Xhefri,It's no secret that those supposedly closest to Jimi during his life ripped him off to no uncertain extent,in fact about the only true friends that stuck by him were Billy Cox,Buddy Miles and by far the best friend he had who really cared for him Eric Burden of the animals. The fact is that janie hendrix only met Jimi briefly twice as a matter of fact on his last call home he didn't even remember her name. She makes a big deal of how she loved her"big brother"but makes no mention of Jimi's surviving siblings (they weren't wealthy and only one-Leon was born without didabilities).janie is not a blood relation of Jimi, her mother married Jimi's father Al in the late 60s,I don't know for sure if Al even adopted her. A lot of people question Al's mental state when he signed over complete control of Jimi's estate to janie rather than Leon or another blood relative. It's no secret that Leon has had substance abuse issues but she has never seen fit to help him-her other "brother"-out.Jimi had 2 sisters,Kathy Ira and Pamela and 2 brothers Leon and Joseph, none of the surviving siblings get a penny.janie hendrix is as far as I'm concerned a heartless, oppurtunistic, mercenary concerned only with her own financinial gain and I absolutely refuse to put one cent her way, that's why I will be pirateing this and any other of Jimi's recordings.

Billy Cox lives in Nashville and I would really like to talk to him, they inducted Jimi into the Hall of Fame in Nashville several years ago and he spoke there I think.
I wouldn't ask him about this though I'm sure it's a sore spot.
During Jimi's life there were so many blood suckers around that Billy was afraid someone was going to kill him to get his job, that's what I've read...I wouldn't doubt it.People will do anything for money....sad.

I too will not pay for, but will aquire this collection of music.
I have much respect for the mans music.
But contempt for his "sister". JMHO

His sister, frankly, deserves to be... well shot  . But that gold-digger wouldn't stop me buying music from a genius. The music part of the CD is completely irrelivant from his un-related sister.
