The sound being remastered and digital...makes his riffs soooo much better...it is amazing......The sound quality is stunning.....it's like the new beatles remastered catalog where you can hear nuances you didn't hear before that really complete the recording....

I got it today and listened to it all.
I listen to a different version of Red House everyday, and the one on this new album is one of the best.

I would love to hear the album but I won't be buying it on the matter of principle as stated on forums before and I have many who agree with me. I won't give one cent to a greedy parasite like janie hendrix(who is not a blood relation at all)while Jimi's surviving siblings live in poverty.I would gladly download a pirate copy though.

I agree with you Guitslinger though I probably will get a copy, but she is one person that I dont want to give my money to. I am also weary of the quality of the music that is on there. I mean since Jimis death they have been pumping out an awful lot of albums and are probably sifting through every can to see what he played on.Who knows how much of this music he actually would of released. I mean bands have scrapped whole albums for not being up to snuff. This gots here his sister would release anything just to make a dollar.

Took the words out of my mouth, it's just like all of those rappers/hip hop "artists" that posthumously release 17 albums. Their families squeezing more blood from the stone...meh..- :?

I had not heard that about Janie ...makes sense though.
Jimi played Monterey on my 14th birthday,so I've listened to everything I could for 40+ years.....this just didn't start recently with Janie,I've seen stuff out shortly after his death with Curtis Knight I think it was, that was bad, like a cheap audience recording....Jimi is waaaay back in the mix and it doesn't even sound like him from what I remember.
People cashing in on whatever they can dig up.
I would still give it a listen though.

I can't stand his sister. Shes a gold-digger who simpy aint gotta' clue... I mean she went to Gibson to make a Jimi Hendrix strat.

I'm a bit of a hypocrite, but I do buy anything with the word Jimi and Hendrix on it.

+1 I have stated to friends the only way i get this is to steal it. I am normally against pirating music and give my friends grief over it, but I am on the other side on this one.

there's this too. Jimi purposely didn't release the material here. this isn't stuff he was working on when he died. It is all discarded material from the end of "The Experience' days, before he formed 'The Band of Gypsies' These are mostly songs or versions of songs he didn't think cut the mustard.

I wish people would stop humping the corpses of dead celebrities. I always (and longtime members here will remember, and wince,) bring up the distasteful ads with Fred Astaire dancing with a vacuum cleaner. yuck.

I bought it. I like it a lot.

I was expecting to hear a lot of half-finished tracks, but they aren't that.
The vocals are what surprised me: they are real final tracks. Powerful.

easy there on the rappers... there were only two with posthumous releases that were anything of relevance..B.I.G. & Tupac...don't slander a whole genre..... 8)...and they are true artists.....not "artists" as you choose to put it..... :?....and no I am not a rapper......unless it's christmas 8)
