Hi,I have a few questions I like to ask you.
Does a vintage Strat ashtray fit a 2point USA standard bridge, these with the rectangular brushed saddles? Can Kluson tuners be installed instead of the modern tuners without damaging the peghead?
I want to give a American Standard Stratocaster a 50ies look without ruining the instrument of course. I already bought the CS 54 pick-ups and a 1ply pickguard.
Other question: is it so that CS 54's have a very surfguitars bity sound with maple necks, and does these pick-ups change the sound of the stratocaster drasticly, how do they sound like, is there an Fender artist who plays with these pick-ups clean, so I can have an idea.(is Dick Dale playing CS 54's?).

Thank you very much.

The ash tray cover will not fit.
Hello!

It does however, make a serviceable ash tray and in my experience a nice Henry Winterman Cigar fits just fine! :D

Enjoy!

Dumb question but how does the ashtray attach to the bridge and does it interfere with the trem bar ?? :?

At the very least and depending on how you play, wouldn't putting the ashtray on the guitar make palm muting harder? I know I play with my palm against the bridge.

When the cover ("ash tray") is correctly installed, the long back side of the cover is contoured so it clips onto the standoff piece of metal the intonation screws go through. To a lesser degree, the side contours firm up against the outer sides of the two E strings' saddles. Again, due to it's contours, the cover doesn't interfere with the tremolo arm at all.

With the cover ("ash tray") on, there is space between the top of the strings and the top of the cover. Consequently, you'd have to manipulate your palm somehow on top of the strings right in front of the top of the cover. No way will you be able to rest on the saddles.

I've tried playing with the cover on. Trying to palm mute this way isn't as easy, is most inefficient and with your palm ever so slightly always leaning against the front of the cover, it eventually loosens and oftentimes, will pop off.

Highway One and American Special Stratocasters feature a vintage-style bridge. No problem fitting the ashtray cover on these babies.

The ashtray cover can also be installed on an American Standard guitar, since American Standards use a 2-point bridge with vintage-style bent saddles. The so-called "modern" bridges with the block saddles require some minor modifications to be done in order to accept the ashtray cover.
