Glad to hear these good news.

Fender finally created a noiseless pickup which retains those familiar Strat/Tele/Jazz Bass sounds without the sterile and bland muddiness normally associated with stacked humbuckers, dummy coils and active electronics.

The "passive lane" on the HSS works similarly as an active mid-boost switch, although the guitar's circuitry is passive.

In fact, this push-push switch routes the signal from any pickup position to the bridge position with the no-load tone circuit bypassed. The result: blasting overtones and volume straight into the Strat-osphere!

Unfortunately, the new Deluxe HSS suffers from the absence of a locking bridge option, which is the "must" for any humbucker-equipped guitar of that series.

It's very easy to make a "new" Deluxe HSS LT.

Simply replace the stock 2-point non-locking bridge with a Floyd Rose deluxe locking unit taken from any older Deluxe HSS, Deluxe Plus, Ultra, US Contemporary or Showmaster guitar. Although Fender has officially discontinued the product in 2007, it can be found easily on eBay.

Hi all..my first time on this..but I am sooooo psyched!! The GC had one of the new 2010 strats with the 'passing lane' button that just came in the store, but the salesman didnt know much about it (very knowledgable and nice guy too).

After playing it, it was a pretty easy decision on what Strat to get. I ve been looking for my first one for months and the dizzying array of choices is confounding, but this baby was an immediate sell. Cant wait till Fender posts some info about it, nothing there just yet!
